Legal and Ethical Issues- Task 2, P3,M2

Task 2: Plan and develop pre-production materials
Learning outcome 2: Be able to plan and develop pre production materials for an original media product to a client brief. (P3,M2)
Legal and ethical issues

Firstly, being ethical is a key part to being a good magazine for the community, as this is a local magazine we want to consider all grime fans in North London from lots of different backgrounds and although we don't legally have to do it, we feel it will be better for example to use different examples of grime artists from different backgrounds so different people can relate meaning the magazine will get a better reputation. Also use models of different shapes and sizes and different backgrounds to show that everyone is equal.

Legally we will have to decide on an age for the magazine and will be discussed about to the ASA, in my opinion the age for the magazine should be 12, this is because grime is becoming a popular music genre for the youth of North London and as it's growing in the youth we want to get as many grime fans to read our product. The magazine cannot use any articles from other magazines or have a similar design of magazine as this can be classed as copyright and can be taken to court for this.

The magazine should also not release untrue articles or headlines as we could be taken to court if it's found as untrue and would bring down our reputation, also if we bring out untrue articles to grab customers attention the person that the article is about can sue us and take us to court.

So the magazine doesn't get in trouble for copyright issues we must always ask permission from other companies if we want to use something they have used or they have the or a similar design to our magazine otherwise we can be taken to court
